[News] Seminar on Student Affairs Held in Our School

(Reporter: Du Yu) At 9:30 a.m. on March 22, a seminar on student affairs was held at Room 308, No. 2 Teaching Building. Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party Committee of our School, Yu Xiaozhou, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and all counselors of the student affairs leading group attended the meeting. At the meeting, the participants had an in-depth discussion on comprehensively implementing the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating talents, improving and perfecting the working methods, and helping the growth and all round development of students.

In his concluding speech, Qu Xianghua put forward hopes and demands for promoting new progress in our student affairs. He pointed out that we should strengthen the top-level design and systematic planning of student affairs, focus on education activities for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the study of Party history, earnestly strengthen the work of student party building center, and give play to the leading role of backbone party members. We should continue to promote the comprehensive reform of “three education”, strengthen the communication and cooperation with head teachers, professional teachers and graduate supervisors, and give full play to the positive role of professional teachers in science and technology innovation education, practice and training, social practice, and employment and entrepreneurship. We should attach great importance to the selection and training of student backbones, take the opportunity of deepening the reform of League organization to promote the high integration of League Committee, student union and student associations, and pay attention to the comprehensive ability investigation of student backbones, and give full play to their subjective initiative. He required that the counselors should pay attention to the accumulation of work materials, actively carry out academic research, and constantly improve the scientific level of student affairs of our School.
