[News] The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information Held the Mobilization Meeting for Students’ Study and Education of Party’s History and the Opening Ceremony of Training Class for Backbone of Student Party Members

On the afternoon of April 8, the Mobilization Meeting for Students’ Study and Education of Party’s History and the Opening Ceremony of Training Class for Backbone of Student Party Members was held in Room 111, No. 3 Teaching Building. Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party committee, teachers of the student affairs leading group, student Party member representatives, students in charge of the League and student organization, and all students from the student Party construction office attended the meeting. Liu Biao, counselor of Party construction, presided over the meeting.

The meeting officially began in the passionate national anthem.

Led by Maimaiti, the Party members solemnly swore and review the Party oath.

In the mobilization speech, Yu Xiaozhou said: “on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the study and education of Party’s history is an inevitable requirement to remain true to our original aspiration and promote the great historical cause of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The backbones of student Party members are the core force to carry out the study and education of Party’s history, and also the important force to do a good job in the student Party construction of School. We should guide the students to master advanced theories and improve their ideological awareness through training.” She put forward three requirements. The first is to conscientiously implement all study and education activities. Party members and student cadres should take the lead in the study; the Party branch, League branch, class, student organization and student association should be covered in full, so as to ensure that the complete and featured implementation. The second is to integrate the study of Party’s history with the study of the history of new China, the history of reform and opening up, and the history of socialist development, so as to “learn from history, understand the great power of innovation theory”, “increase confidence from history, strengthen the consciousness of ‘two maintenance’”, “advocate morality from history, keep the original aspiration of education”, and “put it into practice to start a new situation of career development”, and guide all students to listen to and follow the Party unswervingly. Third, the backbone of student Party members should cherish the learning opportunity of the first training class for them, correct their study motivation, make strict demand on themselves and set an example in study; cherish the honor of being the backbone of Party members, play a vanguard and exemplary role, abide by various rules and regulations and training requirements; strengthen communication and exchange, develop strengths and make up for weaknesses, deepen theoretical study, enrich practical activities, and improve comprehensive quality, so as to truly master what they have leant.

Liu Biao made a brief explanation on the implementation plan of the study and education activities of Party history and the implementation plan for training student backbone Party members. He said that the School would organize and carry out a series of theme education activities, to guide the students to transform their learning achievements into a strong driving force for their sustainable and healthy development.

Yu Xiaozhou delivered a special party lesson entitled “Studying the Party’s history, strengthening the faith, keeping the original aspiration and carrying the mission”. She expounded the significance of the study and education of Party’s history from four aspects: “the Communist Party of China has always been in the forefront of the times”, “the three historical contributions of the Communist Party of China”, “the spiritual pedigree of the Chinese Communists” and “learning the youth growth wisdom from the Party’s history”.

In her lecture, Yu Xiaozhou pointed out that the Communist Party of China had always been in the forefront of the times in various historical periods, leading the Chinese people to realize the great leap from standing up, getting rich to becoming strong. The magnificent glorious course and great historical contributions made by the Communist Party of China made us deeply realize that without the leadership of the Communist Party of China, there would be no unity, prosperity and strength of the country. We must always adhere to the leadership of the Party and never waver.

Finally, Yu Xiaozhou said: “Young people are the most dynamic and creative group, they should learn well, strength their skills, keep in mind their family and the country, be the new generation of the times to shoulder the great responsibility of national rejuvenation, be the vanguard forces of the development of the times, be the youth guardian of the socialist system, and be the loyal successors of Marxism.” She hoped that the students of our School would strengthen their ideals and beliefs, start from now, start from every bit, be down-to-earth, work hard, be pioneering and innovative, take up the historical responsibility entrusted by the Party and the people, and write a magnificent chapter worthy of the times!
