Congratulations to the Party branch of mechanical engineering teaching experimental center, which was awarded the university-level advanced grass-roots Party organization in the annual university Party evaluation for 2019-2020.

There are 10 Party members in the Party branch of mechanical engineering teaching center which is under the condition of less teachers and more courses. Although the full-time staff have no high academic qualification or professional title, and have low pay, they have high passion for work.

In terms of theoretical learning, the Party branch has carried out the theoretical learning mode of online “micro Party course” for ordinary Party members, and the micro Party course for “youth Party members”, which has stimulated the enthusiasm of Party members to consciously study the theory and organically combine theory with the work of the center. In the thematic Party day and other collective activities, all Party members often discussed the management and service matters of the center, and offered suggestions for the center.

All Party members have really been the first to bear hardships and take responsibility in all posts. Especially during the epidemic, in order to give a good internship class and to live up to the expectations of students and parents, with the Party members as the vanguard, they all worked together to do everything well, discussing a good plan for practice course during the epidemic and putting it into practice.

With the advantages of the experimental center, the Party branch combined the “pairing pilot” and “three integration” talent training mode, and experimented with the pairing pilot in “one person for one group” mode, that was, one person lead a group to train students’ practical ability and innovation ability, etc. In this manner, the work was well implemented.

During the epidemic, some Party members fully demonstrated the vanguard and model style, the brave in sacrifice and the fearless voluntary service sprit. All Party members actively responded to the call for donations, and many teachers volunteered in various ways to help fight the epidemic. For example, in the volunteer activities, Mr. Tu Bo went directly into the unit where there were suspected and confirmed cases, and delivered vegetables and medicine for the residents who could not go out, and he had bought medicine for the critically ill patients for more than 100 times, which truly reflected the brave and fearless volunteer service sprit!

The Party branch has paid great attention to humanistic care and improved its cohesion in caring and being cared for. In the past year, two teachers have suffered cerebral hemorrhage, and one teacher was infected with COVID-19. For sick teachers, the Party branch has sent Party members and teachers to keep in touch regularly to give timely help. Especially during the epidemic, the Party branch gave full care to the sick teachers, so that they could feel the concern from the Party organization.

With the joint efforts of all Party members, the Party branch was awarded the Excellent Party Branch of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. Lu Guiying, the Secretary of the branch, was awarded the Excellent Party Member of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2017-2018, Ding Tengfei was awarded the Second Prize in 2019 Micro-course Teaching Competition for Young Teachers of Metalworking and Industrial Training in Hubei Province, and Zhao Quan and other teachers have instructed students to win many awards in important competitions, such as National College Students’ Mechanical Innovation Competition, the National Undergraduate Engineering Training Integration Ability Competition and the National Metallographic Skills Competition for College Students.
