I. Overview of Graduate Union

The Graduate Union of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (hereinafter referred to as the Graduate Union) is the main student organization under the leadership of the Party Committee and the guidance of the Youth League Committee of the School, and is the bridge and link between the School and graduate students.  

The Graduate Union always insists on the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics, takes Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era as its guide, always upholds the purpose of “serving students wholeheartedly”, closely focuses on the work philosophy of “guiding the students’ thoughts, helping academic and scientific innovation, and serving growth and development”, continues to make deep and continuous improvement in building the foundation of thoughts, pursuing academic excellence, promoting culture and sports employment and entrepreneurship, implementing reform requirements, and improving internal construction, and is determined to unite and lead all graduate students in the School to contribute their youthful power on the new journey of building a strong country through science and technology and manufacturing.

III. Featured Activities

(I)  Focusing on ideological guidance and building a reliable graduate union

Strengthen theoretical study, carry out in-depth study and education on Party history, organize various special study seminars, strengthen practical education, assist in entrance education and graduate education, and comprehensively promote ideological and political guidance online and offline.

(II) Strengthening academic leadership and stimulating the vitality of scientific innovation

Focus on the main academic business of graduate students, and make overall arrangements for academic forums, model sharing meetings, scientific and technical paper presentations, Energy Equipment Innovative Design Competition for China Postgraduate, robot competitions and other activities to create an excellent academic atmosphere.

(III) Helping graduate students to grow with smooth service channels 

Conduct regular visits to graduate students’ laboratories and dormitories, listen to and collect their needs and practical difficulties, and help solve them in a timely and effective manner. Carry out a series of employment sharing salons, and provide career planning and employment guidance to serve the students’ personal development. Hold sports activities, such as basketball, football and badminton competitions, for postgraduates to enrich their study and life.
