The Department of Mechanical Engineering Studies and Implements General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Speech During His Visit to Renmin University of China

In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his visit to Renmin University of China, to accelerate the construction of mechanical engineering discipline, and seriously summarize the experience in teaching reform of ideological and political course and curriculum construction, the Department of Mechanical Engineering held a special study and exchange meeting in the Conference Room 303 of No. 2 Teaching Building on the afternoon of May 12. The meeting was hosted by branch secretary Han Guangchao, and all teachers of the department attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Comrade Han Guangchao led the participants to collectively study General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on his visit to Renmin University of China, focusing on the relevant content on the construction of ideological and political course and the construction of a good university. Comrade Han Guangchao pointed out that as a professional teacher, we must give full play to the role of the main channel of classroom teaching in accordance with the new standards and requirements, create ideological and political course, make the classroom the main position of ideological and political education, and strive to be a guide for young students on their youth track.

Then, four teachers, Xu Linhong, Yang Yang, Liu Hao and Zhang Wenying from the metal materials and manufacturing teaching team, talked about various practice modes of how to combine ideological and political materials and course teaching process in the courses of Heat Treatment of Metal Materials and Metal Technology respectively, and discussed with the participants how to determine the proportion of ideological and political materials in the teaching process and other issues. After listening to the reports of the four teachers, the teachers had a lively discussion and expressed that they would continue to discuss the construction of ideological and political course teaching mode of mechanical design courses and mechatronics courses in the future collective study.
