1.1 General information
Experimental Center of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), is composed of Teaching-experiment Center of Mechanical Engineering, Virtual Simulation Center of geological Equipment, Professional Lab of Electronic Information Engineering and Lab of Communication Engineering, with the area of 7500 m2 or so. The center undertakes the practice teaching tasks for over 2000 students in School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information as well as the engineering practice and teaching tasks for the students majoring science and technology in CUG. At the same time, Experimental Center of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information is also the innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform of CUG. It undertakes dozens of extracurricular independent scientific research programs of the undergraduates and postgraduates every year, provides the conditions and guidance for the training, design and manufacturing of the competitions including Mechanical Innovation Design Competition, Comprehensive Engineering Training Competition, Robowork, Drawing Competition and National Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest and so on and makes great achievements. After construction of repair and procurements in recent years, it has purchased the software and hardware including high performance computers 3D scanners and graph plotters, which have provided effective support to the teaching and scientific research of the related specialties.
1.2 Experiment system
Experimental teaching system of Experiment Center under this School is designed based on the overall requirements on talents cultivation, lays stress on the comprehensive engineering accomplishment, practice ability and innovation ability, establishes multiple modules in layers, and organically combines with the theoretical teaching. In addition, it has relatively independent experimental practice teaching system, strengthens the combination with the scientific research, engineering and production, reforms the traditional experimental teaching contents and experimental technical methods, increases the comprehensive design and research innovation experiments and excites the initiativeness and creativeness so as to improve the experimental teaching level and quality of the electromechanical engineering.
