Program of the 9th School Open Day for 2023 Postgraduate Admissions of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)

The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) has 131 full-time faculty members, among which there are 24 doctoral supervisors, 26 professors, 59 associate professors, 2 winners of national talent program, and 8 winners of Hubei talent programs. There are currently 2497 students in total. The School has four majors, namely Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Communication Engineering and Industrial Design. Among them, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation and Electronic Information Engineering are national “Double Ten-Thousand Plan” construction majors, and Communication Engineering is a provincial “Double Ten-Thousand Plan” construction major. This School now has one Ph. D. program in the second-level discipline of geological equipment engineering, three master’s programs in the first-level disciplines (mechanical engineering, information and communication engineering, and design), 5 education platforms at state-level, province-level and ministry-level, 5 industrial technology innovation centers and 10 joint training bases for graduate students. The research directions cover mechanics and mechanical system dynamics, advanced mechanical design methods, geological engineering equipment and its automation, optical mechatronics technology, signal and image processing, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, intelligent instrumentation, intelligent control, intelligent manufacturing, industrial vision, product design, etc. The program of the 9th school open day for 2023 postgraduate admissions of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information is hereby notified as follows:

I. Objects and Qualification

Applicants should be outstanding undergraduate graduates in 2024, who are expected to be eligible for exemption from examination upon recommendation. 

II. Time and Schedule

1. Registration: From June 5 to June 25, students can log in to the online registration system of CUG postgraduate admission information network (the school open day registration system for postgraduate admission) for registration (The application is considered unsuccessful if the “Application School” is not filled in.). Students should put the following documents into one PDF file and send it to the email 1226782401@qq.com before June 25, and the package file should be named as “name - name of undergraduate school - name of applied major”.

① One copy of the application form of 2023 School Open Day for Postgraduate Admissions of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (derived from the registration system for double-sided printing on A4 paper);

② Scanned copy of ID card and student card;

③ Undergraduate transcripts and major ranking information (copies must be stamped with the official seal of the academic affairs office or the school or department);

④ Scanned copy of CET-4 and CET-6 report card (or other English level certificates);

⑤ Other supporting materials (such as published papers, various award certificates, qualification certificates, etc.).

2. Material examination and system confirmation. The School will organize a special review team to examine the applicants’ materials, decide on the list of selected students, and determine the admission information in the registration system before June 26. Students who have passed the application are requested to confirm their participation in the system by 12:00 am on June 27. Selected students who do not confirm in the system on time are considered to have given up.

3. The school open day will be on June 28.

III. Specific Schedule

A combination of online and offline manners is used. Students from CUG shall participate in this activity offline, while students from other universities can participate in this activity offline or register for online participation.

Note: the specific activities shall be subject to the on-site arrangement, please pay attention to the relevant notices.

IV. Policy Guarantee

1. Candidates from both CUG and other universities, who participate in the above-mentioned activities, have excellent performance and obtain the qualification of qualified or above grade, and get the qualification of recommended exam-free from their units, can be directly proposed to be admitted as master students (academic or professional) of Grade 2024 of CUG and enjoy the first-class academic scholarship for master students in the first academic year after passing the examination and assessment of CUG for recommended exam-free candidates. Candidates with high comprehensive quality and potential for innovative cultivation can be directly admitted as doctoral students and enjoy the doctoral scholarships and academic grants of the university.

2. For recommended exam-free candidates who participate in the school open day offline and are proposed to be admitted by the University, this University will bear their travel and accommodation expenses for participating in the school open day activities (Students need to pay for the bill and keep the receipts, and then be reimbursed when they are admitted as recommended exam-free candidates).

3. Accommodation: It is recommended to stay in the Welcome Building of China University of Geosciences (students need to book their accommodation in advance, and the fee is waived). Booking hotline: 027-67883183.

V. Points for Attention

1. If false registration materials or certificates are found, all qualifications obtained therefrom will be cancelled, and the School reserves the right to investigate.

2. Students participating in the school open day activities must abide by the relevant regulations of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and participate in the activities according to the unified arrangement.
