Selection Scheme for “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated High-level Talents Development Program of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information in Academic Year 2021-2022

In accordance with the spirit of the “Notice of President Office of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) on the Issuance of the <Implementation Plan for “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated High-level Talents Development Program>” (DDXBF [2020] No. 63), the “Notice on the Establishment of the Leading Working Group for “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated Development” (ZDDYF [2021] No. 83), “Rules for the Implementation of “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated High-level Talents Development Program” (ZDDYF [2021] No. 84), “Guidance on the Development of the “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated Development Program and Development Plan” (ZDDYF [2021] No. 85), and “Regulations of the Undergraduate School and the Graduate School on the Implementation of Mutual Course Selection and Credit Recognition” (ZDDYF [2021] No. 86), the University decided to start the selection process of “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated High-level Talents Development Program for outstanding undergraduates of Grade 2019. To successfully complete the selection of “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated High-level Talents Development Program, the following work scheme is hereby formulated.

I. Organization

The School shall set up a leading group and an assessment group for the selection work of “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated High-level Talents Development Program, which is responsible for the student selection and the supervisors’ qualification examination.

Qu Xianghua serves as the leader of the leading group and Ding Huafeng serves as the leader of the assessment group.

II. Selection Objects and Requirements

1. Objects

Undergraduate students of Grade 2019 in CUG (Wuhan)

2. Requirements

1) The students should love the alma mater and plan to complete their undergraduate and postgraduate studies in China University of Geosciences (Wuhan);

2) Submit the application at the beginning of the fifth semester: No failure in exam, CET-4. Or, IELTS (Academic) and TOEFL test scores are 6.0 and 80 respectively;

3) The student’s weighted average score (calculated by the method for recommendation and examination-free) must be in the top 30% of the major.

4) No punishment during the school year.

5) Excellent academic performance or expertise in subject competition during the school years; strong interest and great potential to engage in scientific research.

III. Selection Procedure

1. Undergraduate students of Grade 2019 are accepted for registration from Dec. 6 to Dec. 20. Applicants should fill in the “Application Form for the Qualification of “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated Development Program” of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (Annex 1) and provide relevant supporting materials. The electronic version should be sent to 1849763590@qq.com before Dec. 20. The paper application form, undergraduate transcript, transcript of English proficiency test (if the transcript of CET-4 or CET-6 is lost, the query result screenshot from the official website can be submitted) and other relevant supporting materials shall be submitted to Mr. Li at Room 511, No. 2 Teaching Building before 4:00 p.m. on Dec. 22.  

2. Before Dec. 24, the School shall organize the selection and assessment group to conduct interview and selection for the applicants according to the requirements of relevant documents of the University, and the shortlist should be submitted to the Graduate School for review.

3. After approval by the University and publicity for 10 working days, the applicants shall obtain the qualification for “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated Development. The students who are selected into the “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated Development Program shall sign the “Letter of Committee for “Bachelor-Master-PhD” Integrated High-level Talents Development Program” (Annex 2).

IV. Miscellaneous

The selection shall adhere to the principles of fairness, impartiality and openness. Falsification, violation of work discipline and other misconducts will be seriously dealt with in accordance with relevant provisions.
