Notice on the 2022 Young Teachers Teaching Competition of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information

In order to actively implement the annual teaching competition for young teachers organized by Undergraduate School, to continuously improve the teaching level, business quality and teaching ability of our young teachers, and to stimulate the enthusiasm, creativity and responsibility of young teachers in teaching, the School has decided to hold the 2022 Young Teachers Teaching Competition, and the relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

I. Guiding Principles of the Competition

The competition aims to cultivate young teachers' dedication and rigor in their work, guide them to strengthen their classroom teaching ability training, improve their ideological quality and professionalism, promote the construction of the teaching team, further promote the depth of teaching reform and improve the quality of talent training.

II. Participation Requirements

1. Target participants: Full-time teachers under the age of 40 (those who have won the first prize at the university level will not participate), who have taught for more than three years and have undertaken undergraduate teaching tasks in the past two years, and who have excellent teaching evaluation in the past three years.

2. Participating courses: no less than 24 theoretical hours
    3. Competition content

(1) Participants should prepare the teaching content of a lesson (20 minutes) and deliver it on site in the form of PPT. 6 copies of the paper teaching design scheme should be provided on the day of the competition (see Annex 1 for the teaching design template).

(2) Classroom teaching: mainly including teaching content, class organization, teaching language and teaching style, writing, multimedia applications and other aspects. Participating teachers will teach for no more than 20 minutes, and experts will conduct on-site scoring (see Annex 2 for the scoring sheet).

(3) Classroom teaching requires a dignified demeanor, clear spelling, logical clarity, focus, and step-by-step progress. The linkage between the competition lecture section and the preceding and following content should be reflected.

III. Competition Time, Place and Requirements

1. The competition will be held in the afternoon of April 14, and the location will be announced. 

2. All teachers who meet the requirements of the competition are required to participate in principle, and teachers who have participated in the university-level competition can participate voluntarily.

3. The competition results are evaluated by the hundred mark system, with on-site scoring by the leaders of the School, members of the Teaching Working Committee, teaching supervisors and excellent representatives of teachers.

IV. Awards and Rewards 

There are 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 5 third prizes in this competition, and the rest are excellent prizes. The School will reward the participating teachers with RMB 2,000Yuan for the first prize, RMB 1,500Yuan for the second prize, RMB 500Yuan for the third prize, RMB 300Yuan for the excellent prize, and will directly recommend the two teachers who won the first prize to participate in the university competition.

It is hoped that each department will pay active attention to this teaching competition for young teachers and provide 1-2 experienced teachers for the participants to give special guidance.
