Learning from and paying tribute to people’s heroes, carrying forward great sprit of combating COVID-19 pandemic—— the first league meeting of 07D191 Youth League Branch in September

    (Reporter: Li Hua,  Photographer: Yan Yingying, Yang Dongchen) At 15:30 on Sept. 24, 2020, the first Youth League meeting of our branch in September was successfully held at Room 308 No. 2 Teaching Building. There were 29 league members in our class, and the number of participants was actually 22. The meeting was held jointly with the Youth League branch of 07D195, which was planned and presided over by Li Hua and Su Qiqi, the Secretary of the League branch of 07D191 and 07D195 respectively. Centering on the national commendation conference for combating COVID-19 pandemic held on Sept. 8, the meeting reviewed the epidemic situation and paid tribute to heroes, to inherit and carry forward their spirit.

    During the outbreak, which lasted for more than half a year, there have been many respectable people’s heroes. Some of them are far away from us, while others are around us. On Sept. 8, 2020, a national commendation conference for combating COVID-19 pandemic was held in the Great Hall of the People to pay high tribute to these heroes. Based on this, 07D191 Youth League branch and 07D195 Youth League branch held this meeting. In the preparation stage, the two league secretaries made PPT for the League meeting and collected the videos to watch. In order to stimulate the enthusiasm of the students to exchange and discuss, the two league secretaries carefully prepared exquisite gifts as rewards for the students who spoke enthusiastically. To ensure the smooth progress of the meeting, the two League branch secretaries arrived at the meeting place ahead of time, arranged the venue and debugged the equipment. After everyone arrived at the venue and signed in, the meeting officially began.

     In the first item of the meeting, all members of the League stood up, played the League song and reviewed the oath of joining the league.

   After the first item, the Secretary of the Youth League guided us to watch the video and looked back upon the epidemic situation. After watching the video, we exchanged and discussed the experience of the epidemic, and then thought deeply: what did the epidemic take away? What did the epidemic bring us? Four students actively expressed their views.

   Then, under the guidance of the Secretary of the Youth League branch, we analyzed the current epidemic situation at home and abroad, and explained that the reason why the epidemic in China had been effectively controlled was the spirit of unity of the people of the whole country and the dedication of lots and lots of anti-epidemic heroes to the people day and night.

 Along with the explanation of the reasons, we watched the video of honoring the hero, and shared the most impressive hero in our mind and explained the reasons. It’s another exciting discussion session.
