Chen Zhen, associate professor, master supervisor, government-sponsored visiting scholar, is mainly engaged in the research on gear meshing theory, mechanical transmission and robotics, intelligent manufacturing, and innovative design of new gear mechanism/wheel system. He has successively published 24 papers in famous international journals and international conferences, such as Mechanism and Machine Theory, ASME Journal of Mechanical Design, Proc. IMechE, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics. He has applied for 26 patents (24 granted), including 1 international invention patent (PCT), 1 US invention patent, 14 invention patents and 8 utility models. He has presided over/participated in 22 projects, including General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China for the Youth, General Program of the Natural Science Foundation of Hubei Province, Foundation for Youth Scholars in Central Universities, Postdoctoral Scientific Research Foundation of Jiangsu Province, and various researches sponsored by enterprise and institution.

Our team has participated in extensive peer-to-peer academic exchanges and worked closely with renowned experts in the field of gears, such as Prof. Chen Yangzhi and Prof. Alfonso Fuentes-Aznar, and has also established close contact with South China University of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Chang'an University, Beijing University of Technology, and Dongfeng Motor Corporation, so we can provide students with a good platform for peer exchange, academic improvement and internship work.
