Xiaohui Zeng, associate professor, graduated from the Department of Electronic Machinery, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Chengdu Institute of Radio Engineering) in 1982 with bachelor’s degree, graduated from the School of Mechanical Science & Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology with masters degree, is now engaged in teaching and scientific research in School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and has once served as the vice president of Hubei Teaching Research Association of Machinery Principle.

Teaching profession: As for undergraduate teaching, she is the lecturer of 9 courses including Metal Material & Heat Treatment, Principle of Machinery, Engineering Drawing, Machinery Foundation, CAD Mechanical Technology and Fundamentals of Computer, has been responsible for the practice courses and graduation design of Course Design of Principle of Machinery, Course Design of Mechanical Design, CAD\CAM Numerical Control Machining Practice, and Production Practice of Mechanical Manufacturing; as for postgraduate teaching, she has been the lecture of CAD/CAM Mechanical Technology, Computer Integrated Manufacturing System, and Advanced Mechanical Design, and has given guidance for many postgraduate students.

Teaching achievements: She has published 4 teaching research papers as the first author and published two textbooks as one of the chief editors; presided over 1 provincial teaching research program and 1 experimental technology program of CUG; won the First Prize for Teaching Achievements in Hubei Province in 2013 and the Second Prize for Teaching Achievements in Hubei Province in 2001; directed 2 excellent bachelor’s theses of Hubei Province. Under her guidance, the students have won 2 national first prizes, 6 national second prizes and 6 provincial first prizes in college students’ science and technology competition.

Scientific research and achievements: She has a comprehensive understanding of the advanced technology and system of mechanical discipline, especially CAD and CAM technology, and has mastered some important modern mechanical design methods and technologies, such as optimization design, finite element, simulation technology, etc., and has deep understanding and accumulation in CAD software development. Main research fields: CAD/CAM mechanical technology and application, virtual design and computer simulation technology, etc. She has participated in a number of national 863/CIMS promotion and application programs and participated in 5 scientific research programs as a key member; published 9 scientific research papers as the first author, including 5 core journal papers and 1 professional first-class journal paper; obtained 4 national invention patents, 2 utility model patents and 3 software copyrights as the first inventor.
