Wang Cong

Professor, master/doctoral supervisor, winner of Hubei Talent Program, “Talents Program” and “CUG Scholar” Discipline Leading Talent Program of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), postdoctoral fellow of Sogang University, Seoul, Korea, formal postdoctoral fellow at Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology Centre (SMART). He has attended more than 10 overseas national scientific research projects, published more than 20 papers in SCI journals such as Nano Energy, Biosensors & Bioelectronics and Lab on a Chip, made 4 special invited presentations and 5 international academic conference presentations. Moreover, he was awarded the second place of Hochuen Portable Microfluidic Device Competition at the internationally renowned academic conference MicroTAS, and won the Excellent Paper Award in the ZEUS Innovative Diagnosis Platform Technology Development Contest 2017 in South Korea, and obtained 3 licensed Korean invention patents. Currently, he serves as a special issue editor for international journals such as Micromachines and Frontiers in Sensors, and is a member of the Korean Mechanical Association and the Korean Association of Micro and Nano Systems, as well as a senior member of the Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology.

Main Research Fields:

Micro/nano fabrication, micro/nano fluidics, electrokinetics, green energy conversion, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and bio-micro-electro-mechanical systems (BioMEMS), mainly involving interdisciplinary research in new energy, water treatment and utilization, intelligent sensing, and other fields.

Ÿ Micro/nano fluidic chips, used for high-throughput and high-sensitivity disease detection and diagnosis;

Ÿ Engineering equipment oriented to deep water purification, used for efficient and sustainable water purification and filtration;

Ÿ Engineering equipment for seawater resource utilization, used for efficient and sustainable seawater desalination;

Ÿ Micro/nano fluidic energy generators, for energy supply of portable, wearable, implantable devices.

Admission Information:

We warmly welcome senior undergraduates and MS/PhD students with a strong interest in scientific research, hard work, integrity, experimental hands-on ability and independent thinking ability, and a background in mechanics, electronics, materials and other related fields to join the research team and participate in the multi-disciplinary scientific research work. The research team will provide good scientific research conditions, support participation in domestic and foreign academic conferences and exchange visits, and recommend studying abroad and CSC joint training.
