Caihua Xiong, received the bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and Ph. D in engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the owner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the owner of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations. He is serving as the dean of Robotics Research Institute of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Chairman of Hubei Society for Measurement, and the second-class professor and doctoral supervisor of School of Mechanical Science and Engineering and The State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology.

Research fields: Man-machine system, wearable robot, rehabilitation robot.

In recent years, he has presided over the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, “973 Program, “863 Program” and international S&T cooperation programs, and has published a series of papers in the top international robotics research journals, such as Int. J. of Robotics Research, IEEE Trans. on Robotics, Soft Robotics and other international renowned journals, and has published one academic monograph in English (Fundamentals of Robotic Grasping and Fixturing), and the relevant research results have been cited and commented by scholars from Stanford University, University of California, Berkeley, Imperial University London and other internationally renowned universities. He has obtained more than 30 patents for inventions granted by the state, with the wearable exoskeleton rehabilitation robot awarded the gold medal in the 45th and 46th International Exhibition of Inventions, Geneva, and has won one second prize of National Technology Invention Awards, one first prize of Hubei natural Science Awards and one first prize of Hubei Technology Invention Awards respectively.
