Science and Technology Cultural Festival∣Notice on Holding the 2023 China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition for College Students

In order to select outstanding students to participate in the 3rd Hubei Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition for College Students and the 16th “Higher Education Cup” National Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition for College Students, the University has decided to hold the 2023 China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Advanced Mapping Technology Competition. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

 

 

 

PART  1

Purpose of the Competition

 

Learn advanced mapping technologies and methods, show the innovative ability of modern college students in classic mapping technologies and product information modeling, study the development direction of advanced mapping technologies, promote the teaching level of modern graphics in universities, improve the teaching quality, expand the teaching system of graphics, cultivate “three innovation” design talents with rigorous scientific attitude, profound professional foundation, and advanced mapping techniques, and promote “teaching” through “competition”.

 

 

PART  2

Time and Location of the Competition

 

Time: April 22-23, 2023

Location: Room 647, Room 517 and Room 533 of No. 2 Teaching Building

 

 

PART  3

Competition Content

 

Mechanical: Master the basic projection of engineering graphics, the expression methods of machine parts and other knowledge; use Solidwork, Autocad and other 3D modeling tools to create a 3D model of a part within a specified time based on the given part drawing, and complete the assembly;

Architecture: Proficient in understanding and mastering architectural form expression methods, construction drawings, and structural construction drawings. Use Autocad, Sketchup, or TANGENT software to complete 2D drawings and 3D modeling within the specified time. Please refer to the attachment for detailed competition content.

 

 

PART  4

Objects

 

Undergraduate students (excluding the graduates in 2023) at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) are eligible to participate in the competition.

 

 

PART  5

Awards

 

The competition sets up first, second and third prizes for mechanical and architectural categories respectively, with 6 first prizes (4 in mechanical category and 2 in architectural category), 10 second prizes (6 in mechanical category and 4 in architectural category) and 16 third prizes (10 in mechanical category and 6 in architectural category).

The university will select and form teams from the winners to participate in the 3rd Hubei Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition for College Students and the 16th “Higher Education Cup” National Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition for College Students.
