Award Ceremony of 2023 National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest (Hubei)

(Cheng Zhuo, Zhang Xiangli, Zhao Juan, Yu Beibei) On October 28, 2023, the award ceremony of “TI Cup” National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest (Hubei) was held in CUG.

Leaders and guests attending the ceremony included Li Jianwei, Vice President of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Rao Guian, Researcher Officer II of the Higher Education Department of the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, Wang Qin, University Programs Director of TI Company, Wen Jinyu, Assistant to the President and Dean of Undergraduate School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wang Hongxun, Vice President of Wuhan  Polytechnic University, Zhang Jianhe, Deputy Dean of the Undergraduate School of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), as well as the school leaders and supervisors from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information and the School of Automation. More than 300 teachers and students from 58 higher education institutions in Hubei Province attended the award ceremony.

Li Jianwei, vice president of CUG, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of CUG. He expressed gratitude to the organizing committee experts for their hard work and heartfelt congratulations to the award-winning contestants. He hoped that students would continue to give full play to their intelligence and courage to face future challenges and achieve new results. Wang Qin, director of TI, fully affirmed the contribution of the Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest to cultivating college students’ innovative ability and collaborative spirit, and stated that he would continue to provide more support for the Contest and create conditions for outstanding talents to stand out.

“TI Cup” National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest is an A-level undergraduate subject competition organized by the Ministry of Education, with a long history and far-reaching influence, and has been recognized as the most authoritative national event in the field of electronic information. Each year, the organizing committee of Hubei Provincial Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest will select the best team from the winning teams to award the TI Cup. In 2023, a total of 71 teams from this University participated in the contest and won 54 awards, including 6 national awards. Ji Jiajun, Zhang Feng and Song Dehao, students from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of CUG, won the TI Cup in Hubei Province again after 2022. It was the first time for the same team from the same university to win the TI Cup in Hubei in a row, so it has attracted widespread attention.

This year is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Contest, therefore, in addition to the traditional student awards, the TI Cup Award Ceremony has also added awards such as Outstanding Organizational Unit, Outstanding Organizational Worker, Outstanding Instructor, and Dedication Award. A flag handover ceremony was also held. The Organizing Committee of Hubei Provincial Contest fully affirmed our organization and guidance work for the Contest, and this University was awarded the Priority Organizational Unit Award.

The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information and the School of Automation have always attached importance to the cultivation of students’ hands-on ability and innovation ability, and actively encouraged students to participate in all kinds of electronic and information-related disciplinary competitions, achieving remarkable results. The award ceremony was organized by the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information. The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information attached great importance to the role of the award ceremony in enhancing the influence of our electronic information majors within the province, and has specially held a party-government joint meeting to discuss and deploy the plan, laying the foundation for the smooth convening of the ceremony.
