Students from CUG Won Good Results at 2023 China RoboWork Competition

(Reported by Pan Li) In the 10th China RoboticsWork Competition and International Open 2023, 35 teams from 4 schools of CUG participated in 8 events of the competition, and finally won goods results: the championship of two-wheel race in robot mobile event, the runner-up of six-legged walking race in robot mobile event, the runner-up of cartoon design in cartoon animation event, 12 first prizes, 6 second prizes and 6 third prizes.

 

The China RoboWork Competition and International Open, sponsored by the Steering Committee for Teaching Innovative Methods in Higher Education Institutions, Ministry of Education, is a comprehensive robotics innovation competition with significant influence in China. The event has been developed for 12 years since 2011 and has become an innovative platform for the research in robotics and related scientific researchers to display, communicate, and integrate.

The competition was sponsored by Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, Wuhu Municipal People’s Government of Anhui Province and Anhui Polytechnic University. More than 6,000 players from 1,702 teams from 147 colleges and universities, including Tsinghua University, Shandong University, Air Force Engineering University and Naval Aeronautical University, etc., competed on the same stage, attracting attention from CCTV and other central news media.

The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, CUG is responsible for organizing and training for the Competition. With the strong support of the Undergraduate School and the Youth League Committee of CUG, the coaching team of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information has carefully formulated the training plan, built the competition platform, integrated teaching and competition, promoted teaching with competition, and took the Competition as an opportunity to improve the quality of practical teaching in electrical engineering. Through systematic training and university robotics competition, 35 teams were selected from 550 trained players from 5 schools to participate in the national competition. The RoboWork Competition has deeply rooted the engineering innovation concept of “engineering, application and practice” in people’s minds and effectively improved the training quality of engineering students.
